These are speakers you usually see keynoting national conferences who are giving their time to support NESHCo and our members!
One of the sessions I am most excited about is being led by Mercedes Avila, PhD, MSW, MED, Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine. She will be address health equity and inclusion. The title of her presentation is “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Strategies for Healthcare Organizations.” Dr. Avila will share insights from her work in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, having trained more than 10,000 providers across 27 states and 150+ organizations )hospital, community health centers, etc.). Among other topics, she will address social justice in healthcare, health disparities, culturally responsive care and practice, social determinants of health, and racial equity. I’ve spoken with Dr. Avila on a couple of occasions and I can guarantee that this presentation will be phenomenal!
