This week I’ll be delivering a Keynote presentation at the POWER Symposium in Las Vegas. The POWER Symposium is an event design to provide opportunities for wellness, education, and renewal, It is the industry’s most comprehensive conference geared toward specialty retailers catering to customers’ wellness needs, including people in the durable medical equipment business, women’s and hospital boutiques, Orthotics and prosthetics practitioners, and medical centers.
In preparation for my keynote, I traveled to Greensboro, NC, and interviewed Ramona Hertzell, the owner of Second to Nature Boutique. The boutique offers high-quality post-mastectomy wear, including prostheses, bras, camisoles, home and activewear, and recovery care, in a comfortable, boutique setting. All of their consultants are trained and certified fitters, passionate about helping women find the perfect solution to their special needs. I was blown away by the ambiance of the shop. It definitely isn’t what you would think of when the subject of medical equipment comes up. Ramona and her team have created such a warm and welcoming environment. It is truly an escape from the world of medicine.
I used much of the information I gathered in my time with Ramona to shape my presentation. My talk is about bringing humanity, kindness, and generosity to your marketing! I can’t wait to share it with the audience (and some of Ramona’s employees) at the POWER Symposium. My keynote takes place on Thursday morning at 10:30am (Vegas time). I plan to be wearing my #pinksocks and will be tweeting and blogging from the event.
