After a long run as one of the leading news and information sources for healthcare communicators, Ragan Communications is shuttering its Health Care Communications newsletter and website. The health care content will now be consolidated and merged with non-health care news within Ragan’s PR Daily News and Daily Headlines. For me, this is a sad development. I don’t know how else to say it. Things change; I get it. And the Healthcare News Feed has enjoyed a long run. If only they had transformed it into a podcast a couple of years ago! Podcasts are taking over the world!
For the last decade (since 2008), I’ve been a regular contributor to the publication. Over that time, I’ve worked with a few terrific editors who made it very easy for me to be an active contributor; Jessica Levco certainly comes to mind. Jessica is a good egg. I’m grateful to everyone at Ragan for giving me the opportunity to share my point of view and the stories of my random adventures in healthcare marketing. The exposure they gave me certainly amplified whatever I hoped to share with this blog.
This is just another good reminder that the only constant in life is change. If you’re a healthcare marketer and you don’t deal well with change, find another occupation. That reminds me: be sure to look for my new podcast coming out in the next few weeks. For real.
