Lately, I’ve been writing and speaking a lot about the role marketing teams will need to play in supporting their organizations’ population health initiatives. This may not be the reality today for many healthcare marketers and communicators, but the day will come. From my perspective, marketers have a lot of value to bring to these programs. Population health improvement will largely be the result of multi-sector collaborations between provider organizations, public health groups, community organizations, church groups, and payers. Who better to help facilitate and promote these collaborations than marketers – the natural community builders. We are adept at building coalitions!
