We had a terrific conference in Chicago this week. My thanks to the SHSMD staff, board members and volunteers for putting on such wonderful event. For me, it was four days of learning, networking, catching up with old friend and colleagues, eating, and making new friends and acquaintances. And Chicago is a great city for this kind of an event.
I was encouraged by the Twitter conversations that took place throughout the conference. We ended up with 561 Twitter users generating 4,442 tweets. Many of the people Tweeting and ReTweeting using the #shsmd13 hashtag were doing so from afar; they weren’t all in attendance at the conference. In total, the Tweets led to 6,677,623 potential impressions. Not bad! Top influencers included @diptoe, @shsmdaha, @chrisboyer, @benatgeo, @hcsuccess, and @shungerford – among others. I want to give a special shout out to @diptoe (Edgar Diaz) who did an amazing job Tweeting relevant content from the sessions he attended. He is a speed Tweeter and a really sharp healthcare social media professional.

See you next year at #SHSMD14.
