Speaking Tomorrow at the AAMC GIA Conference

Tomorrow I will be speaking at the AAMC GIA National Professional Development Conference in Hollywood, Florida. This is my second year in a row speaking at this conference and I am honored to have been invited back. Brooke Tyson Hynes (Tufts Medical Center) and I will present an alumni relations, marketing, and public relations track session on Thursday, April 4, 2:00-3:15PM. Lyle Green, Associate Vice President of Physician Relations at MD Anderson, will be the moderator for the session.

Here’s the session abstract:

Building a Social Media Strategy That Gets Results

Social media is only as good as the strategy behind it. Learn how two academic medical centers incorporated social media into their marketing, communications and alumni relations strategies resulting in greater engagement with their respective constituents. The presenters will share the step-by-step process they use to develop their strategies for Facebook, Twitter and blogs, and how traditional marketing is used to support these social efforts. Presenters will also share the metrics that demonstrate the effectiveness of their strategy as well as discuss the necessary resources (time and money) that it takes to manage social engagement on an on-going basis.

Speakers on our Panel:
Karen Dooley
Director of Advancement Communications
University of Florida College of Medicine

Dan Dunlop
President and CEO

Brooke Tyson Hynes
Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications
Tufts Medical Center

Chantele Martin
Director of Alumni Affairs
University of Florida College of Medicine

If you are attending the conference, please come by and say hello. If it is anything like last year’s conference, it should be an outstanding experience.
