The folks at Tufts University’s Health Communication Summer Institute have asked if I would help to spread the word about some of the course and programs they are offering this year. This post features their Health Literacy Leadership Institute.
The Tufts Summer Institute on Health Literacy Leadership will be held June 10-14, 2013 on Tufts University’s downtown Boston campus. Offered through the Health Communication Program at Tufts University School of Medicine, join Tufts faculty and distinguished guest speakers for this one-week, intensive institute for health professionals and educators. Gain the skills and knowledge needed to improve the health literacy of both health professionals and adult learners.
During our inaugural year we enjoyed a wonderful mix of health literacy professionals from community-based education programs, medical education and continuing medical education programs, and some with the job title of Health Literacy Coordinator at their respective hospitals!
Participants of our upcoming institute will work on a project of their choice and receive feedback from instructors highly regarded for their health literacy curriculum development work in medical education and adult literacy, and from each other. The result will be a final product that is current, comprehensive, informed by research, and reflective of best practice.
Class size is limited to about 20. Enroll in the Summer Institute online <http://www.regonline.com/Register/Checkin.aspx?EventID=1186611> . Tuition costs $2,260, and $1,810 early discount before April 21, 2013. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
