This morning I’m attending the Spring Conference of the Carolinas Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society (CHPRMS). I attend a variety of healthcare marketing conferences throughout the year but this one is special because it is in my backyard. With my firm being based in North Carolina, CHPRMS is our regional society. This is a great event for reconnecting with healthcare marketing professionals in the Carolinas although I’ve noticed that several of old guard are not here this morning.
One of the things I’ve been looking forward to is hearing Matthew Dillingham from MedTouch speak at this conference. Matthew is kicking off the conference this morning speaking about m-health. I’ve known Matthew for a couple of years and he’s a terrific presenter. We work together on Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
According to Matthew, there are many avenues for hospitals to pursue in the mobile arena (here’s the low hanging fruit):
- Physician finders
- GPS directions to hospital
- Physician referral apps
- ER wait times
The theme of the conference is “Stretching your budget without shrinking your goals.” Many of the session will focus on ways to do great work while dealing with smaller budgets.
