A Chicago law firm has started a new blog that is being positioned as “the leading source of news and legal developments for doctors and physician practice administrators.” The site, Doctor Parking Only, can be found at http://doctorparkingonly.wordpress.com. This blog is brand new and has yet to be populated with much content. However, I am curious to see if it can develop a following. It was started by the Law Office of William J. Cadigan, P.C., a law firm with offices in Chicago and Winnetka, Illinois serving doctors and other health care providers. Before starting his own firm, William Cadigan was a member of the Health Industry Group of the law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld L.L.P. In his practice, Mr. Cadigan represents hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, physician practice organizations, and health care trade associations and other tax exempt organizations in corporate, transactional and regulatory matters.
Certainly not the first lawyer to take to the blogosphere to communicate with his constituents, it is still interesting to see businesses begin to adopt online vehicles for communicating with physicians and practice managers. We will definitely see a lot more of this in the days to come. Unfortunately, it looks like the blog is not quite ready for prime time. Content is sparse. You can check out their new blog at at http://doctorparkingonly.wordpress.com or on Twitter at http://twitter.com/#!/docparkingonly (I think I became their first follower last weekend. They can also be found on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Doctor-Parking-Only/113967468668287 and on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/DoctorParkingOnly?feature=mhum (although they have yet to post any videos).
It looks like the team at Doctor Parking Only plan a comprehensive social marketing program, but have launched before all the pieces are in place. Due to the lack of content, it is currently unsatisfying to visit its various social media sites, including the blog. You can check out their inaugural blog post on the topic of ACOs at http://doctorparkingonly.wordpress.com/2011/01/31/accountable-care-organizations-accountable-to-whom/. Hopefully there is more to come.
