Arik Hanson, APR, recently wrote an interesting case study about Swedish Medical Center in the Seattle area. In the study, Arik interviews Dana Lewis, the Interactive Marketing Specialist at Swedish Medical Center. (I’ve followed Dana on Twitter for some time – @danamlewis) I encourage you to check out the interview: http://www.arikhanson.com/2010/11/01/case-study-swedish-medical-center/. Arik is “the principal of ACH Communications, a digital communications consultancy focused on fostering meaningful online interactions, driving digital relevance and building measurable growth through social channels.”
In the interview, Dana speaks about how she helped administration and providers jump on the social media bandwagon. She also speaks of the Swedish team’s live-streaming of a patient’s experience in their sleep clinic. Dana explains to Arik why she loves her job at Swedish, which is her first job since being out of school. Together, Swedish and Dana are doing cool things, and this article gives you a glimpse into their world.
Arik also includes a video of the Swedish team’s ABBA flash mob, which took place June 1 to celebrate 100 years of Swedish. It’s definitely worth checking out: http://www.arikhanson.com/2010/11/01/case-study-swedish-medical-center/.
