The 2010 Annual Conference of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD) begins this Sunday. It is taking place at the Hyatt Regency Chicago I’m flying out Sunday morning so I can attend a luncheon later that day. Then I host a roundtable discussion on Monday and deliver a presentation on Tuesday together with my colleague Mark Shelley from Lexington Medical Center. Our talk is on the strategic use of social networks through a strategy we call “Hive Marketing.” It is based on an article Mark and I published in Healthcare Marketing Advisor in January 2010. Some of the presenters to look out for this year include:

  • Linda MacCracken et al, Thomson Reuters – “Generational Voices”
  • Larry Margolis, SPM – “Marketing Ethics: When to Say “That’s Not Right””
  • Gabrielle DeTora, Strategic Marketing Consultant – “Plan, Align, Deploy, and Execute”
  • Susan Rasmussen et al, bvk – “Cut through the clutter with Microcampaigns”
  • David Marlow et al, Strategic Marketing Concepts – “Marketing Accountability”

I hope to see you at the conference. For more info go to http://www.shsmd.org/shsmd/conference/index.html.

  1. Thanks for the recommendations. I hope there’s a good turnout this year. I know with travel freezes it can be difficult but it does look like a good lineup of sessions. I’m hoping to make it to your presentation — I’ve been hearing good things!

    • Thanks Kira. I hope to see you there. Please come up and introduce yourself to me!
