Each year my firm sponsors the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham, NC. Our PR staff runs the pressroom throughout the four days of the Festival. Our primary function is to connect journalists with filmmakers. As The Durham News describes it, “The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival is one of the nation’s great annual cinematic events, a four-day extravaganza featuring more than 100 films, plus talks and panels by filmmakers and other events. The offerings, from filmmakers throughout the world, span a wider range of subjects and styles than you can imagine…” Over the next few days, hundreds of filmmakers and documentary fans will descend upon Durham to watch more than 100 films in six venues – all located within a city block of one another.
Yesterday was day one of the 2012 Festival. It was a clear, cool, crisp spring day in Durham (see photos below). For my team, this represents an opportunity to shift gears for a few days and be a part of something truly amazing. A couple of years ago I met Wavy Gravy at the festival, and introduced him to my daughter. Last year, Elmo was one of the stars of the Festival and I was able to capture him on video. I can’t wait to see what this year brings.
